Elodea fue un proyecto de intervención en el Parque Metropolitano Simón Bolívar que concluyó con un video de 30:00 minutos, el cual funciona como un documental acerca de la planta acuática y las actividades entorno a ella, así como un registro de las intervenciones y acciones que conllevaron a una instalación en el parque.
La Elodea es un planta que habita en el lago del parque que es extraída por su condición de maleza ya que crece desmesurada y rápidamente. A partir de su observación descubrí dinámicas entre el lago, el parque y sus habitantes, donde hay un constante esfuerzo por mantener un equilibrio en este lugar.
La Elodea diariamente pasa por un proceso de recolección, acumulación,desplazamiento y emplazamiento, que devela su esencia como ser vivo en sus cambios de materialidad en respuesta a este proceso y a las condiciones ambientales.
Elodea was a project that followed the activities of the aquatic plant Elodea that inhabits in the lake of Simon Bolivar park. Elodea is extracted out of the lake because of its condition as a undergrowth because it grows rapidly and disproportionately. Starting from its observation I discover dynamics between thee lake, the park and its inhabitants, in which exists a constant effort for maintain the balance of the place.
The tracking of this plant led to the making of a video of 30 minutes that register the activities that involve the plant in the park and the interventions and actions executed with the plant inside the park.
The Elodea goes through a daily process of harvest, accumulation, displacement and location executed by workers of the park.This process reveal its essence as a living been by showing its changes in materiality in response of the environmental conditions.
